InsideVue ultrasound examinations

For your own peace of mind ...

For many, the worst part of any illness is often the not knowing.  Most of us can deal with certainty but its the unknown that causes the greatest anxiety and stress.

At InsideVue we cannot treat client conditions but we can help with that first crucial step towards treatment, that's getting to a quick diagnosis.

... and those that you care about

Your GP will make a referral for you. We always try to contact patients by phone, usually within a few hours of receiving your referral, so its important to make sure your GP has your up to date contact details. Under NHS regulations we are not allowed to leave a telephone message unless it is to a personal mobile phone number. So we may have called but not left a message. If you are happy for us to leave a phone message, then do tell your GP and they can note this on your referral form. Unlike hospitals, we dont just issue appointment dates, rather we call you to find out when it will be convenient for you to come in and will offer you a range of dates and times. We will also discuss any preparation that may be needed for your scan. We offer our clients appointments usually within a few working days, no long waiting lists followed by an agonising delay for the report - your GP will usually receive a written report ithe same day or within one working day - we may even talk to the referrer prior to sending your report.

Our patients receive a level of care more usually associated with a private clinic, patients are more than just an NHS or hospital number at InsideVue. Each patient is treated as an individual and is asked to complete a patient questionnaire to help us find ways of continually improving the service we provide to our client patients.

Summary of service benefits

We offer a range of appointment times and days which are usually booked with the patient within 48 hours  of your  referral being received by us.
Patients can speak to a member of our team to arrange their appointment, no impersonal mailing of fixed appointment dates and times, we find out when it is convenient for a patient to come in and try to match a suitable range of appointment dates and times that will be the most convenient for patients.
99% of all ultrasound reports are provided to GPs within 2 working days or less of the investigation.

Fast, high-quality, reliable consultant backed scans are undertaken using state of the art ultrasound equipment by highly qualified, specialist HPC registered sonographers and radiologists.
All scans are fully archived for retrieval and referral allowing comparative examinations, such as those for monitoring abdominal aortic aneurysms.

Patients enjoy a high standard of personal care from the easy booking arrangements through to the simple preparation advice we provide. Our clinicians take time to explain the examination to patients to help reduce the anxiety that many quite naturally feel when undergoing tests.
Our clinicians frequently contact GPs to discuss particular findings to ensure a seamless delivery of patient care.

Referrals are simple to make, you can fax, post or e-mail (nhs.net to nhs.net only).

InsideVue has rigorous clinical governance systems in place.  All clinicians are thoroughly screened and the service is indemnified under the NHS Litigation Authority's CNST scheme.
All images are available to secondary care and specialist providers via the Image Exchange Portal, contact details appear on each report.

InsideVue is regulated and inspected as an independent organisation by the Care Quality Commission.

Reporting

Our ultrasound service features clear, concise GP reporting. Where multiple examinations are undertaken these are contained in a single report to reduce paperwork. We always provide codes for examinations undertaken enabling GP admin staff to quickly code these in to the surgery's clinical system.

Billing and payment

For Surrey practices, billing and payment is arranged directly with the relevant Clinical Commissioning Group so it really couldn't be simpler.

FAQs

Q: Why do I need to fast for some scans?

A: Fasting is required for some examinations to allow the clinician undertaking the examination to help visualise organs in the area under examination - most usually in the abdomen.

Q: Why do I need a full bladder for some scans?

A: For exactly the same reason as those scans where you need to fast, some scans, require the patient to have a full bladder to help visualise the area under examination and allow a proper interpretation of the results. There are a few examinations that require both a full bladder and for the patient to fast.
